• Why is the government silent on the loss of 428 crores in the state – BB Batra
• Only 18 out of 51 projects completed – BB Batra
• All scams should be investigated honestly – Jagbir Malik
July 5, Chandigarh:- Haryana Congress MLAs on Wednesday raised questions regarding the scam in the AMRUT scheme in the state.
A press conference was held by Congress MLAs at the state Congress office regarding the scam. MLAs BB Batra, Jagbir Malik, Jabir Balmiki, Subhash Gangoli, Balbir Balmiki, Induraj Narwal and Haryana Congress media in-charge Chandvir Hooda were present.
During this, MLA BB Batra said in the year 2017-18, Rs 2,700 crore came to the state under the Amrut-1 scheme and whose contracts were also allotted in 2017-18. According to DNIT, the cost of the projects was to be Rs 2286 crore, while tenders worth Rs 2,714 crore were allotted, to be spent on maintenance of sewerage system, drinking water supply, drainage and parks.
He said that this work should have been done by the Public Health Department, to ensure that the work was executed properly. Batra said the work was done by the Urban Local Bodies Department with the intent of doing corruption in this money, in which a scam of Rs 428 crores has taken place.
MLA BB Batra said out of 51 projects in 6 years, only 18 projects could be completed while 33 projects are still pending. Raising questions on the government, he said instead of giving these projects to state companies, they were given to companies from other states, and Amrit-1 was not even completed yet Amrut-2 came in.
“Even though the sewerage plant had not been built, pipelines have already been laid. The rates of pipes were shown 20 to 25 percent more than the rate of High-Power Purchase Committee, which is openly shows that there was a scam,” he said.
Batra said this scam was also raised in the Vidhan Sabha and Rohtak BJP MP Arvind Sharma had also made allegations of scam in the works done under Amrit Yojana, before the Chief Minister himself. Batra said that the truth of the matter would come out only after the investigation of this scam is carried out by the CBI.
MLA Jagbir Malik also highlighted the case of Jind and other districts where pipelines could not be found and located even though they had been laid on paper. He demanded impartial investigation of the scam and action should be taken against the then ULB minister and involved officials.
